Does the Family Court approve these courses?
Yes. California Parenting is on the Family Court Services (F.C.S.) resource list of Providers. Our Teachers, Anita Chavez and Jessica Chavez have been working with the family courts since 2000 and assisting families and children in crisis since 1998 - providing home visitations, counseling, legal document assistance, resource compilation, parenting classes, and other family support services needed.

Do you offer any number of hours for my Course?
Yes, you can decide how many hours you would like to take and register accordingly.
Currently we offer anywhere from 1-hour to 14-hour courses for online, audio, and Video courses, and up to 52 hour, in-person, interactive, Audio, and video courses. If you would like more than 14 hours online, you may request this by sending us a note and we can try to accomodate your needs.

How Much are the courses?
Online Courses start at $65.00 per Course, and this includes a certificate of achievement, but it depends on the course format chosen.

Will my Certificate say 6 hours or 6 Weeks?
If you complete 6 hours of study, you will receive a 6-week certificate since we only currently offer weekly sessions. Now, we are offering fast-paced courses whereby students can take their courses anytime through log-in, these courses are timed by the hour but still convert the total number of hours completed into weeks.

What is the difference between an online course and an in-person course?
In our opinion, there are only three differentiating factors involved. All three of the above are required factors for any successful outcome, so it is important to realize each individual's learning style and strengths in comprehension and critical thinking skills to determine the best fit. For instance, online courses require at minimum, motivation, and the ability to work independently, requiring an "auditory" or "visual" type of learning style; these learners typically learn best by listening to content taking notes, or reading the substance of things for it to sink in. Whereas, in person, courses are for a more "kinesthetic" (hands-on) type of learner. "Kinesthetic" (aka Tactile) learners tend to incorporate body movements and learn through touching and doing, so they often need more hands-on in-person courses to truly grasp the subject matter. How can I tell if an online course is right for me?
If your inquiring because of a court order, you must refer to the order for specific instruction. Otherwise, you should figure out what your motivation is for taking this Course, and consider how you learn best before deciding which one is best for you. If your not sure what type of learner you are, perhaps this test can help?

Does your online Course require 1 hour of study per class?
Yes and no. There is no minimum as to how long it takes for you to retain the information, but some sections are timed to assure full review of particular content.
If you finish the class in 20 minutes, on an un-timed course, and feel confident with your understanding of the information shared then you finish in 20 minutes. Just know that you do have to demonstrate your knowledge upon your final session by way of a course exam, and if you fail the exam there is a "consequence" of having to pay a processing fee of $25 to prepare your "Certificate of Completion" because it is assumed you will pass, and a Certificate of Achievement is prepared for you when you start your Course.

Can I finish the full 6-week/hour Course in 1 hour and receive a six-week certificate?
Because some lessons are timed, you can complete a 6-week/hour course in one day if you have 6-hours available since all online and digital lessons are now accessible as needed with one log-in! Also, if your court order does not specify either way and states only an "in-person" course is required, then we can offer you a 6-hour session in one day in intervals - depending on availability.

Do I have to complete each class in one session?
Yes, because all lessons are considered "weekly" lessons and cater primarily to students who require weekly or hourly sessions; therefore, as each class is a minimum of one hour, students must complete each lesson once they begin.
And we now offer "log-in anytime" sessions which enables students to manage their own schedules! This allows students to attend fast-track courses as needed, so it is possible if a student has 6-hours available they can complete a 6-hour course in one day!
